Ladies Day at the 80th Annual Chelsea Community Fair

File photo. The crowds arrive early and in large numbers for the doors to open at Ladies Day.

This year, there will be three new Ladies Day superintendents — Carrie Trinkle, Michelle DeFant and Chrissy Hilberer — on Friday, Aug. 25 at the 80th Annual Chelsea Community Fair.

These three volunteers have chosen “Fun in the Sun” as this year’s theme and visitors to the Multipurpose Building that Friday morning can expect many of the same traditions that have taken place in the past. There will be music and entertainment, goody bags and giveaways.

In addition, this year’s Homemaker of the Year and Junior Homemaker of the Year will be crowned during the event that begins at 7:45 a.m., and as always, the ladies begin lining up well before the doors open.

The event will also be a chance to meet the four 2017 fair queen candidates.

There is also coffee and pastries to get the morning started and goodie bags filled with surprises for the first 250 adult ladies who arrive at the event.

“We’re excited,” about being the new superintendents, Trinkle said.
