Letter to the editor: vote for Elaine Bater as Lima Township clerk on Aug. 2

Dear Editor:
This is an open letter to the residents of Lima Township:

We are writing to endorse the current Clerk of Lima Township, Elaine Bater –  in her bid to retain her job during the August 2, 2016 election.

If the citizens of Lima Township don’t know her, she is working long hours in the offices on Jackson Road, and one can find her there often. She was hired by the Board of Trustees, out of 3 applicants last year, to replace our long-time Clerk, Arlene Bareis.

Elaine is working very hard to update things that have to do with the election, and move us forward for the future.  This includes extra training for the election workers, an extra computer for the precinct which is growing, and taking time to coordinate with the county to make sure things are done exactly right.

To see some of her work, check out the May 9th board meeting minutes on Lima’s website www.twp-lima.org.

Elaine is retired from over 25 years in service to local government in the City of Ann Arbor, but a long-time resident and taxpayer in our rural township. She is extremely serious about doing an excellent job for Lima and proves it every day on the job.

Please vote for Elaine Bater on August 2nd.

Bob and Arly Spink
