The Chelsea Girls Golf Team participated in regional play, on Wednesday, Oct. 7 at Monroe Country Club.

At regionals, the top three teams, and the top three individuals (that are not on one of those teams) qualify for the state meet.

The regional was won by Gross Isle, taking the top spot with a 363, Detroit Country Day was second, and New Boston Huron, grabbed the last qualifying spot.

Chelsea shot a score of 441 to finish sixth in the tournament. Scoring for the Bulldogs were Mackenzie Benning with a 99, Maddie Vasquez was next with a 107, followed by Rose Sanville, shooting a 114, and Maggie Duve with a 121.

“The highlight of the day for the girls was when they found out that Mackenzie’s 99 was good enough for the third Individual spot, to qualify her for the state meet,” said coach Joe Ewald.
