The Chelsea Area Players (CAP) Youth Theater will be presenting Disney’s “The Little Mermaid Jr.” at the George Prinzing Auditorium the weekend of May 16-18.

This version of the show is based on the fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen and adapted from Disney’s 2008 Broadway musical. Mermaid Ariel, the youngest of King Triton’s seven daughters, longs to live on land. In order to fulfill her dreams, she defies her father and strikes a bargain with Ursula, the sea witch. Can Ariel convince Prince Eric that she’s the girl for him?

Producer Shelley Wheaton said that a large cast of nearly 50 children in grades 3 through 8 have been chosen following auditions in early March, and rehearsals have begun under the co-direction of Alex Moore and Christine Landis.

Ticket information will be coming soon.
