The Chelsea Kiwanis Club will welcome Jerzy Drozd, cartoonist for the CPTN SRSLY and Super Master Sentinels comic book series to their meeting on May 18.
Drozd also has conducted workshops for children to learn to make their own comic book creations. The club looks forward to hearing how he inspires young people with his art and communicates to them the dangers of substance abuse.
The meeting begins at 6:15 p.m. in the St. Joseph Mercy-Chelsea Hospital cafeteria, and the speakers begin at about 6:45 p.m. Everyone is invited to the meetings to learn about Kiwanis.
Last Friday morning was beautiful weather for Cooper’s Fun Run at Hudson Mills Metropark. Children and adults enjoyed the fresh air and exercise. Then on Friday evening, despite a brief shower, we raised over $500 for the Chelsea PTO at our food concession trailer during the Ice Cream Social. On Saturday morning, the skies cleared for the hundreds of participants in the hospital’s Heart and Sole Run/Walk/Bike.
