May 19-20: Co. C Annual Spring Show at Chelsea High School

Chelsea High School’s talented show choir group, Co. C, will perform their annual spring show, Friday and Saturday, May 19-20 at 7:30 p.m. at the CHS auditorium.

This year’s theme is One Voice: Shelter and features uplifting music and songs that address our need for connection and community. More than 50 students have been hard at work preparing for this annual show and are excited to share this theme that encourages all students to believe in themselves.

According to Steve Hinz, Co. C and CHS director of choirs, “We’re excited to share this message of respect, empathy, and compassion through music and dance.  More than ever, this theme is important for our local youth and their families.”  Tickets are now on sale at Chelsea Pharmacy or at the door.

Energetic songs like “It’s My Life” and “Titanium” will entertain and inspire audiences of all ages. Lisa Hinz-Johnson is once again coordinating the musical arrangements, and has written and arranged an original piece called “Pass it On”.  Choreography this year was designed and taught by former Co. C Alum Bradley Ratliff and Beau Prenevost, both talented performers. “We are lucky to have such talented performers work with our students to create a show that highlights their individual talents,” says Hinz.

Co. C is embarking on its 27th year of helping students connect to each other and their own potential through vocal and dance performance. The hours spent together rehearsing and encouraging each other creates an extended family for the Co. C performers.

“These kids really support and champion each other in Co. C and you can see this community spirit conveyed when they perform,” says Hinz.

Joining Co. C onstage are the 65 members of Jr. C, representing Beach Middle School and South Meadows School. This outreach mentor program is a favorite of the high school members and always a delight for the audience.

Co. C is an award-winning group of choral students from Chelsea High School who combine high-energy music and dance to entertain audiences in Michigan and the Midwest.

Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for students and senior citizens, and are available at Chelsea Pharmacy or at the door.
