(Chelsea Update would like to thank Bob Milbrodt for the information in this story.)
Monday, May 22, is the club’s annual Scouts Night. Club members share a meal with troops and packs from Chelsea’s Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts, and learn about their many fun, educational, and character-building activities.
Each pack and troop prepares a presentation about the activities and service projects they are working on throughout the year. We look forward to hearing about their activities and are pleased to support their endeavors with small stipends.
During Nancy Cooper’s Fun Run last week at Hudson Mills Metropark, several participants were motivated to take that extra lap to earn a trophy. The weather was perfect for this 34th annual event.
Nancy likes to get there at 6 a.m. to get everything set up, and for the last few years, she has turned over running the event to Katy Fillion, Independence Hall teacher at Chelsea High School. Students from all over Washtenaw County participated.
The club meeting begins each Monday at 6:15 p.m. in the St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea Hospital cafeteria, and the speakers begin at about 6:45 p.m.
Everyone is invited to the club’s meetings to learn about Kiwanis. Go to www.kiwanisclubofchelsea.org for more information.
