Heart-and-Sole-Registration-Card-2015-(1)-1

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Karlya Bernath for the information in this story.)

Calling all runners, walkers and bikers.

The weather is warming up and it is time to register for the Annual Chelsea Heart and Sole Run/Walk/Bike on Saturday, May 9. The Heart and Sole race is an event benefiting the Behavioral Health Services of St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea. Based on the 2015 Community Health Needs Assessment, mental health was identified as one of the most important needs in the service area.

The Behavioral Health Services of St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea provide a continuum of care to meet the specific needs of patients and their families in Chelsea and surrounding communities, addressing the physical, psychological, and social aspects of well-being.  Join us in support of this admirable and under-recognized cause!

The Heart and Sole race offers a distance for participants of all ages and abilities with a 2-Mile and 5K Run/Walk, 10K Run, as well as a 13.8 mile Bike Race or Bike/Run Combination for ages 14 and up.

The bike race begins at 8:15 a.m.  and the run/walk begins at 9:30 a.m.  All events start at Chelsea High School.  Race packets will be distributed Friday, May 8 from 4-7 p.m. during a Pre-Race Expo and Saturday, May 9 from 7-9 a.m.

Participants of the Heart and Sole race (age 18 or over) are eligible to register for the 2015 Mackinac Bridge Labor Day Run lottery.  Click here for more information.

Our volunteers make this event possible each year and we appreciate your continued support.
