Each week, Elizabeth Richardson will feature one vendor from the Wednesday Market Basket Farmers Market, which is located across from the Chelsea Wellness Center in the professional building parking lot and is open from 2:30-6 p.m.

If you haven’t found this market treasure yet, let us help you learn about its vendors.

Our first vendor is Deb Marks, owner of Marks Farm.

In 1974, Deb and Jerry Marks starting farming with 113 acres of their own and an additional 500 rented acres in Britton.

All kinds of vegetables.
Veggies.

A few years ago, Deb Marks and her youngest son, Ben, began focusing on growing vegetables and have grown more than 80 different varieties. Last year, youngest daughter, Sarah and her husband, Travis, joined the family team and are working 10 acres — planting, weeding, harvesting, cleaning, loading and selling.

“It has turned into a fulfilling experience to bring fresh, local and safe vegetables to the communities,” Deb Marks said.

Marks Farm sells their homegrown fresh vegetables to more than seven farmers markets in the area. She can be found in the very back of the Wednesday market smack dab in the center.

The booth has multiple tables of delicious fresh vegetables, so check out the Wednesday Market Basket Farmers Market vendor listing in Tuesdays in Chelsea Update to see what she, and the other vendors, will have each week.
