This year’s contestants are Katie Kuebler of Chelsea, Savanna Burchett of Chelsea, Lauren Baker of Chelsea and Hannah Hicks of Dexter.
Kuebler, 16, is a junior at Chelsea High School who will sing and play the ukulele for the talent portion of the competition. She plans to show rabbits and pigs at fair this year as well as enter exhibits in the Green Barn. Kuebler is sponsored by Thompson’s Pizza.
Burchett, 17, who is home schooled, plans to perform a type of dance called aerial silks for her talent during the Aug. 25 program. She plans to show sheep and dairy at the fair and enter projects in the Green Barn. Burchett is sponsored by Choice Home Designs.
Baker, 17, a senior at Chelsea High School will show the crowd her special effects makeup as her talent and will enter numerous exhibits in the Green Barn. Baker is sponsored by Gigi’s Flowers.
Hicks, 16, a sophomore at Dexter High School, will show her fly tying talents and plans to show poultry as well as numerous projects in the Green Barn. In fact, she plans to enter the junior homemaker competition as well. Hicks is sponsored by Dexter Family Eye Center.
