Organizers Michele Friss and Marsi Parker Darwin are very excited about their 5th year running the Chelsea Artisans Market at the historic train depot during Wine, Women and Shopping on Saturday, Nov. 7 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

It’s the tenth anniversary of the event in downtown Chelsea, which features wine tastings, food, music, and shopping at many of the stores in town.

Artisan's-Market-2Once again you’ll find 15 fresh, fun, and sometimes quirky area artisans with handcrafted goods for unforgettable gifts at the depot. There will be many returning favorites as well as a few new faces.

One of them is Chelsea’s Cynthia Silveri, who says, “With the coloring ‘movement’ in full swing, I was thrilled to be invited to participate in the Chelsea Depot Artisan’s Market this year. My first coloring book, “The Passionate Colorist: Floral Delight” will be showcased, and I will have a second book (theme to be determined) ready for sale, too. I’ll also have several of the most popular designs from both books available as postcards and/or note cards.”

Also new to the Depot Show is Brynna Darwin of Chelsea, bringing the hand painted signs she markets on Etsy as BeeDeesigns. Painting on chalkboard or wood, she creates uplifting signs, banners and coasters for home decor or parties and specializes in custom designs. “I’m extremely excited to join these other talented artists for my first show,” Brynna says.

Friss’s work includes colorful, exuberant fabric buntings for every occasion, as well as knitted snake scarves and felted fairy boots. Darwin is known for her beautiful and affordable stained and etched glass panels, ornaments, and gift tags, including Michigan Maps.

The variety of mediums at the depot show also includes jewelry, primitive woodcarving, fabric and fiber, glass, photography, soaps and personal care items, books and prints, pottery, journals, and stuffed animals. For more information please visit Chelsea Depot Artisans Market on Facebook.
