On Monday Nov. 7, at approximately 7 a.m., the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will CLOSE Garvey Road between Pierce Road and Cavanaugh Lake Road in Sylvan Township for an installation of a cul-de-sac and the permanent closure of the railroad crossing between Pierce Road and Cavanaugh Lake Road.
Please be advised that all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.
During this project, through-traffic will be prohibited.
The railroad crossing will be removed and no through access for motorists will be allowed. Local access for properties located within the closure will be maintained.
Sweet! I have asked for this for 4 years. Too much garbage disposed of down in the swamp, and too many cars pulled over exchanging who-knows-what in the privacy of the remote stretch of road. Let’s make it a running trail.
