Oct. 22: Jump Start Band in free concert at The Depot

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Sandra Vadlamudi for the information in this story.)

Jump Start Band will present a free concert of old favorites on Sunday, Oct. 22 at 2 p.m. at the The Depot, 125 Jackson St.

Music includes old rock ‘n roll, ballads, gospel, as well as some contemporary artists’ material.  Jump Start Band has performed over the years at festivals, parties and retirement facilities. They have also given annual shows at Jackson’s Michigan Theatre to raise money for its ongoing renovations and have played at Cascades and for the City of Jackson’s Downtown Development Authority.

Jump Start musicians include Tim Farrell (lead vocalist), Carol Konkol (drums), Dick Barnes (bass), Jimmy “Jam” Kulas (trumpet and sax), and Ralph Mullins (lead guitar).  Carol Konkol is a 3rd generation musician, and Jimmy Kulas regularly plays “Taps” for funerals locally and especially for fire fighters and police.

This “Gift of Music” is free and is presented to all Chelsea area residents to honor the 200th Anniversary of the birth of Baha’u’llah, the Founder of the Baha’i Faith.  It is sponsored by the Baha’i Group of Chelsea. For more information, go to www.bahaicenterwashtenawcounty.org
