The Chelsea Farmers Market takes place each Saturday at the Palmer parking lot from 8 a.m.-1 p.m.

Chelsea Update is profiling vendors at the Chelsea Farmers Market and this week it’s Heim Gardens.

Heim Gardens has been at the Chelsea Farmers Market for 15 years. The family farm, located in Sylvan Township, has been around for 145 years.

“It’s a vegetable farm with five greenhouses,” said Kevin Heim.

They grow a huge variety of vegetables including tomatoes, green beans, radishes, onions, cabbage and gourds. This week they expect to offer leeks, tomatoes, eggplant, beets, potatoes, onions, cabbage, peppers, carrots, zucchini, kohlrabi, green and yellow beans.
