Openings on Chelsea Planning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals

Would you like to help shape the future of Chelsea?

The Chelsea Planning Commission is seeking two new members to fill vacancies. One open seat is a 3-year term and the other open seat is for a 2-year term.

The Planning Commission holds one work session per month on the first Tuesday of each month and then a regular business meeting on the third Tuesday of each month. Both meetings begin at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building at 311 S. Main St.

In addition, there is a vacancy on the city’s Zoning Board of Appeals for a 2-year term as well as an opening for an alternate member, who would only be called to serve if a regular member could not attend a meeting.

If needed, the Zoning Board of Appeals meeting is held the third Wednesday of each month at 5 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building at 311 S. Main St.

You must be a city resident to apply. The mayor recommends appointment to the City Council, which then votes on approval.

Here is a link to the form if you’d like to apply for any of these positions.
