Are pigs or rabbits or poultry your passion?

Then be sure to head to the Chelsea Community Fair on Tuesday, Aug. 22.

Daily admission to the fair is $8. Children under 10 are free. An adult season pass is $30, students and senior citizen’s (65 and older) season passes are $20. Parking is free. Rides are an additional fee.

Rabbit judging begins at 9 a.m. followed by poultry judging at 11 a.m. and the horse show gets underway in the afternoon.

Beginning at 6 p.m., the youth exhibitors begin their show competing in swine showmanship classes in the Multi-purpose Arena.

The Kiddie Parade will kick things off — beginning behind Common Grill at 5:30 p.m. Be sure to have your children and their decorated bikes there at least a half an hour earlier for a chance to be judged and win prizes. They will ride to the fairgrounds and can then participate in the tricycle pull and kid’s day events in the Main Arena.

The K of C Bingo tent opens at 5:30 and runs until 10 p.m.

Rides open at 5 p.m. and there is the popular demolition derby in the Main Arena beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Be sure to check out  Colors the Clown from 5-8 p.m. as well as the music tent, the merchant barn and the Natures Creation of Life barn. You can also check out how many ribbons you or your friends won in the Green Barn.

Have dinner at the Service Center and an ice cream cone at the Ice Cream Shack or an elephant ear or cotton candy. The choices are endless.
