Public meeting to discuss future of Lima Township Hall tentatively planned for April

Lima Township Hall

Conceptual drawings from Midwest Consulting of the Lima Township Hall property were available for residents to see at the Township Board’s Jan. 8 meeting.

Township Supervisor Craig Maier said that it is too early to nail down where a structure might be built on the property and that it is also too early to rule out the possibility of renovating the existing building.

Board member Duane Luick brought up setting a date for a public meeting to discuss the future of the Township Hall and property. That meeting will tentatively take place in April.

Another topic of discussion was remediating the radon problem inside the Township Hall building. Maier said that he’d only received one bid so far but sent out eight additional requests for bids and invited those who care to make a bid to meet with him on Jan.17.

The board unanimously approved a 2 percent MERS COLA (Municipal Employees’ Retirement System Cost-of-Living Adjustments) for 2018 at a cost of approximately $3,350.
