Publisher’s Message: With Temperatures Rising Can Fair Be Far Away?

Would you like to own this cross-stitch piece?

It’s still a few months away but with the temperatures rising, there’s no better time to remind folks that tick-tock, tick-tock the greatest event in Chelsea is fast approaching.

OK, so I admit my bias toward this event, but when it comes to the community reconnecting, nothing tops the Chelsea Community Fair, which will take place Aug. 22-26 this year.

I can’t help myself. I love the fair, which is a good thing – since I spend quite a lot of time at the fairgrounds before, during and after this annual event covering all the fun. And, after not having anything of my own to enter last year, I’m excited to show you what I’ll be entering this year. This spectacular sheep scene.

How are you doing on your exhibits for the green barn?

So, for anyone who likes sheep or artwork depicting sheep, my cross-stitch project could be yours. This framed piece will be on display at the Chelsea Bakery during Chelsea Update’s 5th birthday party in July and for a few weeks thereafter until fair. I will enter it and once fair closes for this year, the lucky winner can take it home. It was a year and a half in the making, BUT the piece will be raffled off as a fundraiser for Chelsea Update.

I’ll provide complete details next month about how you can win it and in the process help to fund my efforts to bring you all the news that’s fit to print about Chelsea.

I try not to beg for donations too often, but … I’ve found gentle reminders are helpful so, here I go again. If you are a fan of Chelsea Update and you believe it’s become an important part of the fabric of this community, please consider making a donation of any amount to help me continue publishing it on a daily basis. Donations can be sent to Chelsea Update, 18829 Bush Road, Chelsea, MI 48118 or made through Paypal. They are not tax deductible.

Speaking of which, I would like to thank the following people who recently donated to Chelsea Update.
