Jeff Daniels’ Purple Rose Theatre Company is accepting applicants for its “Audition Intensive” and “Shakespeare at the Rose” classes, which are open to actors of all skill levels. Classes will be held at the Purple Rose rehearsal space.

Audition Intensive features intensive, individualized work on monologues, cold readings, mock auditions and film and commercial audition techniques. Each student will leave with two audition-ready contrasting monologues. Participants must come with two memorized one-minute contrasting monologues. This class meets Saturday, Feb. 21-Monday, Feb. 23 and is limited to 14 participants. The fee is $240.

Shakespeare at the Rose will help take the fear out of performing Shakespeare. Learn how to approach the text, find the truth and apply fundamental principles of acting to classic scenes and monologues. This class will give actors the tools to approach Shakespeare with a sense of confidence, adventure and honesty. Some rehearsal outside of class with a group is required. You must have a memorized Shakespearean monologue for the first class session.

This class meets on Mondays, March 16-April 13 and is limited to 14 participants. The fee is $325.
