Lucille Martin of Chelsea, formerly of South Lyon, age 95, died Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Chelsea Retirement Community.
She was born April 27, 1921 in Dundee, Michigan, the daughter of Dorsey and Namah (Haines) Armstrong.
Lucille grew up in Lima, OH. Her family moved to Detroit, where she worked as a pharmacy assistant at Hudsons. She typed braille and was a lifetime member of Nardin Park Braille Transcribers and Seedlings Braille Books for Children. Lucille was a member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in South Lyon.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 28, 2016, 1:00 p.m. at Cole Funeral Chapel, Chelsea, with Pastor Terry A. Nelson officiating. A private burial will take place at Glenn Eden Lutheran Memorial Park, Livonia. The family will receive friends Thursday noon until 1:00 p.m.
