Recent obituary: Ronald Henry Kraska, James Richard Line

Ronald Henry Kraska of Dexter, age 83, died Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Chelsea Retirement Community.

He was born Oct. 31, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Matthew and Ann (Wilczynski) Kraska.

Ron attended Ford Trade School and worked 40 years with Ford Motor Company. He loved fishing and hunting. Ron enjoyed spending his time at his cottage on Halfmoon lake.

A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, July 3, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Chelsea, Michigan with the V. Rev. Dr. William J. Canon Turner officiating.

James Richard Line of Chelsea age 85, died Sunday, June 24, 2018 in South Lyon.

He was born Feb. 19, 1933 in Island View, Lakeview, Ohio, the son of Ralph and Dorothy (Fike) Line.

He graduated from Waynesfield High School in Ohio and attended Ohio Northern University. He was a welder, machinest, and toolmaker all his life, as well as an Army veteran. He served in Hanau, Germany from 1953-1955.

Jim loved antique tractors, steam engines, and stationary engines. Mechanically he was very skilled and creative and was always willing to help his neighbors by repairing farm equipment or design some new innovative solution.

Above all, Jim loved his family, and especially his grandchildren.  For many years, Jim faithfully attended the First United Methodist Church in Chelsea.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 30, 1 p.m. at Cole Funeral Chapel in Chelsea, with Rev. Jeff Ford officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Waterloo. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11 a.m. -1 p.m.
