Recent obituary: Ronald Mark Grifka

Ronald Mark Grifka of Brooklyn, formerly Chelsea, age 48, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017. 

He was born on Oct. 19, 1968, in Ann Arbor, MI, the son of William A. and Mary L. (Hacker) Grifka.

Ron had lived in the area most of his life and graduated from Chelsea High School in 1987. He worked as an electrician for over 20 years and worked for A.F. Smith in Ypsilanti for over 10 years. Ron’s children were the most important thing in his life. He enjoyed the work he did for A.F. Smith and worked hard to provide for his family. He could make anything and enjoyed fishing, tractor pulls, and listening to classic rock and country music. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus #2092 and IBEW #252.

Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 16, 2017, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Chelsea, with the V. Rev. Dr. William J. Canon Turner officiating.

Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery in Napoleon Twp. The family will receive friends at the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home, Chelsea, on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., with Vigil at 7 p.m., and at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
