Reminder: no overnight parking on city streets

Following the first snow of the winter, City Manager John Hanifan told the Chelsea City Council on Jan. 5 that the Department of Public Works staff was called in at 1 a.m. to handle the snow, and would be back in again at 1 a.m. Tuesday morning.

“I’d like to thank Public Works for the job it did during the first real snow of the season,” Hanifan said, adding that there were places that they could not get to because of cars parked overnight.

He reminded residents that there is no parking from 2-5 a.m. on city streets “to make sure that the DPW can do its job.”
