Sept. 21: Kiwanis to recognize local Kiwanis service groups

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Bob Milbrodt for the information in this story.)

Last week’s Kiwanis Club speaker, Bob Pierce, shared the Chelsea Area Chamber of Chamber‘s continuing efforts to attract visitors to the area with printed maps and brochures, as well as online views. He fielded many questions about the ever-changing downtown business locations, moves and vacancies.

Monday evening, we will be having a special dinner to recognize and celebrate the local Service/Leadership Clubs in the Kiwanis family.

We plan to have representatives from Chelsea and Dexter Key Clubs (high school), U of M Circle K Club (college), and St. Louis Center’s Aktion Club (adults with disabilities). We also would like to include interested elementary students, their parents, and school staff in Kiwanis Kids Clubs.

We have been working with school administrators and the PTO to start clubs at the two elementary schools to offer children a fun way to get together with classmates to serve others in their school and around the Chelsea community.

The meeting begins at 6:15 p.m. in the St. Joseph Mercy-Chelsea Hospital cafeteria, and the speakers begin at about 6:45 p.m.

Everyone is invited to the meetings to learn about Kiwanis.
