Sprout Love, a fundraising initiative of the Cancer Support Community of Greater Ann Arbor (CSC) will host the first annual Chelsea Family Wellness Festival, at Chelsea High School football field on Sept. 23, from 1-4 p.m. (The Washington Street Education Center gym will be used in the event of rain).
The family friendly afternoon will feature children’s activities, an inflatable obstacle course, food trucks and various vendor booths.
Don’t miss the main event – a one-hour yoga class for all ages on the football field at 2 p.m. Participants are encouraged to bring a yoga mat, although they are not required.
Sponsors include 5 Healthy Towns, MOVE Wellness, The Chelsea Wellness Center, and St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea.
Registration is not required, and entry is donation based. All funds raised at this event will support programming at the Cancer Support Community Center of Greater Ann Arbor, which provides free support services to families impacted by cancer as well a Financial Assistance Program for individuals and families experiencing financial hardship as a result of their cancer treatment.
“This event is an excellent example of how community engagement creates community impact,” said Bonnie Dockham, executive director of the Cancer Support Community. “The Chelsea Wellness Fest provides a positive opportunity to support the many people that have been impacted by cancer at the local level.”
