Looking-for-Laura(Chelsea Update would like to thank Anna Cangialosi, marketing coordinator for the information in this story.)

On Wednesday, Sept. 25 from 6:30-8:30 p.m., the Chelsea District Library will host U-M History Professor Michelle McClellan, who will discuss the phenomenon of tourism surrounding the places where Laura Ingalls Wilder lived.

She’ll also discuss the ways local residents have embraced the connection.

For generations of readers, Wilder defined the American pioneer experience in her eight-volume “Little House” series, and this free class is offered in partnership with the Adult Learners Institute.

It will take place in the McKune Room.
