Server change coming for Chelsea Update

I wanted to give everyone a head’s up about another change coming to Chelsea Update in the next few days — on the off chance that there’s a problem.

Now that the site is back up and running, Alan Scafuri, its IT guy, is going to grab the site and move it to his server, which means other upgrades will take place as well.

Both of us hope that the transition will be a smooth one and that readers won’t notice anything — except that it comes up more quickly for everyone.

But, as I learned last week, sometimes with technology, things don’t go as expected.

So, please finger’s crossed everyone … it’s full steam ahead with more changes and let’s all hope that January 2013, which will mark the site’s 6-month anniversary, will be its best month ever.

  1. Hi: Cannot bring up most of the stories other than the headline, as it comes up that barnburner, or whatever it is.Wish that that was gone and the old way back, do like to find out= what is happening in my old hometown. Ele Hall

    • We are going through server changeover and upgrades, Eleanor. Please be patient, Chelsea Update should be back up and faster than before very soon. Lisa Allmendinger, publisher

    • Hi Sandra:
There was a major glitch during the change in servers and stories were lost, links were broken, photos went poof in the night. I am in the process of rewriting and reposting about 30 stories that were lost in the switchover. Please be patient as I’m typing and reposting as quickly as I can. There should be a very jam packed newsletter for everyone tomorrow.
      Sincerely,
