Thanks to the generosity of St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea and their fine dining room staff and chefs, St. Louis Center enjoyed another successful Fall Dinner Auction for the 27th year in a row on Saturday, Nov. 8.

Using the theme, “Together – Building a Family,” another sold-out crowd arrived to enjoy live music, a silent auction, a delicious “surf and turf” dinner, and a live auction provided by Auctioneer Joseph Merkel of Merkel’s Auction Specialist, Inc. of Chelsea.

According to Auction Chairwoman Kathi Neuman, “We had another great year with many generous people contributing to our success. This year’s live auction featured an ocean cruise donated by Azamara Cruise lines for any one of their trips throughout the world in 2015. It had a minimum bid of $3,000 and brought in $6,000. There were also many other great donations, and we thank everyone who attended, donated, or bid on our many auction items.”

Fr. Enzo Addari also presented former committee woman Sandy Zeeb of Chelsea with a Legacy Award for the many contributions made by she and her late husband Walter Zeeb from the former Chelsea Greenhouse.

And finally, the State Council of the Michigan Knights of Columbus presented $20,000 to Fr. Enzo Addari from funds raised throughout the state from their annual Tootsie Roll Drives.

St. Louis Center provides residential care for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities west of Chelsea, MI, and is run by the Servants of Charity Congregation of the Catholic Church. For more information, click here.
