Wade Pregitzer of Pregitzer Farm Market, LLC will be on hand to explain Community Supported Agriculture (CSA).
Briefly, here’s what a CSA is. At the beginning of the growing season members pay for a subscription to the CSA farm, which assists the farmers in purchasing seeds and other items involved in starting the new growing season.
In return, the farmer provides these members with a weekly harvest later in the growing season.
If you’d like to learn more, stop by and talk with Pregitzer, one of your local farmers, about his operation and this summer you can begin receiving a variety of fresh local produce at one of several pick-up locations, including the Bushel Basket Farm Market on Wednesdays in Chelsea, which opens on May 7.
