There’s lots going on at the Chelsea District Library this week in conjunction with Hometown Holiday.

Celebrate the start of annual community event with a heartwarming performance by the Common Chord hand bell choir on Friday, Dec. 5 from 7-8:30 p.m.

After the performance, audience members of all ages are invited to try playing the bells for themselves. Join library staff for music, refreshments and good cheer to kick off a great Chelsea tradition.

Need a present for a friend or family member? Who doesn’t like a homemade gift? Make your own holiday presents in the library.

Parents, this would be a great time for you to go shopping downtown, while your children make you a present. All supplies provided but registration is required.

Also on Dec. 6 at 5:30 p.m. there is a volunteer Appreciation Parade Watching Party, also in the McKune Room.

If you are now or ever have been a library volunteer, celebrate another fantastic year of volunteer service with good food and even better company while we watch the Holiday Light Parade from the warmth of the McKune Room.

Plus, the volunteer and Friend of the Year will be announced.
