(Chelsea Update would like to thank Joe Ewald for the information in this story.)

The Chelsea Golf Team won its third consecutive SEC White Division championship on Monday, May 22 at Pierce Lake Golf Course.

“We were leading the division going into the tournament, and shot a score of 330, good enough to top the field in the White Division, and also best everyone in the Red Division except Ann Arbor Skyline,” said coach Joe Ewald.

Lucas DeRosia took home Medalist honors, with a 76, after winning a three-man playoff on the first hole. Kurt Jolly had an 84, and Preston Ewald and Ross Stofflet both shot 85.

On Thursday, May 25, the Chelsea Golf Team headed up to West Branch to play a tournament hosted by Ogemaw Heights at the Nightmare Golf Course. It was an absolutely beautiful course, and I thought we could have shot a little better than we did, but it was a great trip for the guys, the coach said.

The team finished in 6th place out of 21 teams, with a score of 342. Kurt Jolly was the low score for the Bulldogs with an 82, followed by Lucas DeRosia and Brendan Doyle with a pair of 85s, and Preston Ewald and Tim Lyons each shot 89.
