USArtQuest: new art teachers, new classes

usartquest-gelliplate-class(Chelsea Update would like to thank Susan Pickering Rothamel for the information in this story.)

Look for the definition of ‘creative intersection’ and you’ll find USArtQuest located at 18650 West Old US-12 in Sylvan Township.

So it isn’t surprising that this local art supply store is excited about broadening their teaching roster, adding several local artist-instructors, each delighted to share their creative expertise for the fall, winter and spring schedules.

Chelsea artist Rose Bradley is known for her color-filled watercolors depicting gardens, landscapes and portraits. Her classes, playfully called ‘Splash’ explore watercolor painting.

“This media appears challenging, yet it is simple to learn,” she says. Bradley is a member of the Chelsea Artists Guild, Ann Arbor Women Artists, as well as the Michigan Watercolor Society. Taking a personal studio at USArtQuest, she will also be teaching private students.

Cynthia Silveri, will be teaching the ‘1, 2, 3’ classes. From drawing, crafting, and watercolor marker techniques. These classes are either designed to be a single class – as easy as 1, 2, 3 or take up to 3 sessions.

Silveri is a mother of two, and also a long-time Chelsea resident. She has an eclectic background as a landscape architect, artist, crafter, seamstress, as well as being the artist/author of The Passionate Colorist, a series of coloring books found at retailers across the country.

Heather Hartwick-Gladden, having come from a family of artists and feeling like she had been a bit overlooked, found her artistic voice in Zentangling.

“This is an imaginative artsy outlet for the beginner or experienced artist,” she says. Diving head-long into Zentangling, Hartwick-Gladden became a certified Zentangle instructor and now teaches the art-form to encourage others to express their creative spirit.

Other instructors include children’s and special instructor Lolly Mindel, book folding and origami artist, David Lawra, and USArtQuest owner and mixed media artist Susan Pickering Rothamel.

USArtQuest class schedules are available by email sign-up on their website www.usartquest.com, or by stopping in to pick up a printed copy at the store.
