Because Thursday is Thanksgiving, pick up for eastside residential recycling in the City of Chelsea will take place on Friday, Nov. 29. As always, the Western Washtenaw Recycling Authority (WWRA) thanks residents for their patience and cooperation; without you, recycling in Western Washtenaw wouldn’t so successful.

The new bin order is due to arrive late this week, and the bins will be delivered to residents Thanksgiving week, as well as the following week. The bin order is later than we were told because of production issues at the plant.

The WWRA must first assemble the bins, which takes time, but the bins will be delivered as soon as possible. Also, no new bins will be ordered until September, 2014, so if you have not yet ordered a bin, please use your own containers to put out your recycling in the city. It will be picked up.

As a reminder, the following is list of what the WWRA will accept, as well as some items that are not accepted.
