The Yellow Door farm-to-table fund-raising initiative is hosting a breakfast event on Saturday, Nov. 8 fro, 9 a.m.-noon at the Chelsea Alehouse.

All proceeds from the event will go to the Chelsea High School Theater Boosters.

Special guest Chef Todd Wesley Brown of Wesley Catering in Chelsea, will be preparing multiple
breakfast options with a suggested donation of $15 per entrée. The event is sponsored by Rick Taylor, realtor, Charles Reinhart Company.

“We love doing something for our talented high school kids,” says Yellow Door co-founder Janice Ortbring. “They do such a great job and work so hard. And we are really happy to be back at the Alehouse and to have a talented local chef, Todd Wesley Brown donating his time.”

The Theater Guild is a student-run performance group at Chelsea High School that presents three productions a year including One Act (competition, January-February), the Fall Musical and a Spring Play. The Fall Musical this year is “Footloose” performed Friday – Sunday, Nov. 14-16.

This winter, CHS will host the MIFA One Act State Finals competition. This is a state wide competition that includes the top 13 schools from Michigan who have progressed through the Districts and Regionals competition. Each school has 45 minutes to place their set on the stage, perform, and then strike the set out of the performing area. This year’s theme is comedy. It should prove to be a very entertaining event.

“I am so proud to once again be involved with a Yellow Door event while supporting the talented CHS Theater kids,” says sponsor Rick Taylor. “This is such a great group of community volunteers coming together to help others. And the food is always awesome.”

The Alehouse is located at 420 N. Main St., Suite 100, next to the Chelsea Teddy Bear Factory in the Clocktower complex.
