You can ride the WAVE at Monday Kiwanis Club meeting

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Bob Milbrodt for the information in this story.)

The Kiwanis Club of Chelsea, in its 91st year, holds a weekly meeting on Monday nights at 6:15 p.m. in the St. Joseph Mercy-Chelsea cafeteria.

Featured at each meeting is a speaker who typically begins a presentation at 6:45 p.m.

On Feb. 16, Michaelene Pawlak from the Washtenaw Area Value Express (WAVE) will demonstrate the free shuttle by giving anyone a ride after our meal on the route through town that the shuttle takes.

This service provides transportation around Chelsea and surrounding communities. Started in 1976 as Chelsea Area Transportation Service, (CATS), with one van used around the village, WAVE buses now include a fleet of vehicles serving tens of thousands of riders in the western part of the county. Our club continues to support Pawlak and the service, which continues to meet the needs of local residents.
