Chelsea area youth can help make 15 young children’s Christmas shopping dreams come true on Saturday by volunteering to help them at the 3rd Annual Children’s Christmas Bazaar.

The event takes place from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Chelsea First United Methodist Church at 128 Park St., across from the Purple Rose.

Allison Vanderspool, chairman of the event, said she needs 15 more youth in 6-12th grade to accommodate children on the waiting list to participate in the special Christmas bazaar shopping experience.

They would be helping children Pre-K through 5th grade to shop for family and friends.

Youth shopping buddies help children select, wrap and pay for gifts while parents wait in another area of the church.

  • Three youth are needed for the 9:30 a.m.- noon shift.
  • Four youth are needed for the 11:30 a.m.- 2 p.m. shift
  • Eight youth are needed for the 1:30 p.m.- 4 p.m. shift

“You can sign up to work with friends, members of your club, sports team, etc.,” she said, adding, “It is really a lot of fun and I’ll provide pizza, snacks, and training when you arrive for duty.”

Please sign up here, and if you invite friends to volunteer with you, please forward them the link so they can sign up and receive instructions.
