The Chelsea Community Foundation (CCF) has awarded the Chelsea Education Foundation (CEF) with funding to support its strategic planning process as well as sponsoring the upcoming 30th Anniversary Gala Fundraiser.

CEF’s President Lynn Fox has been leading the implementation of a sustainable governance structure including a policy committee. The policies will help guide the organization as board members serve their terms and new members join.  “Strategic Planning was the next logical step to ensure we continuously improve our services to the Chelsea School District. We are appreciative of CCF’s generosity and commitment to CEF,” said Fox in a press release.

Since 2001, 46,000 students have benefited from CEF donations. During the past 30 years, donations in the amount of $1 million have funded 600 grants for programs ranging from art installations to robotics, field trips, and financial management, and 900 scholarships have been awarded to students with outstanding academic performance.

CCF has been providing financial support to nonprofits in Chelsea for 25-years through grants that include enrichment programs for children and seniors, training for caregivers, trails for everyone in the community, leadership development, capacity building, performing and visual arts.

“The Chelsea Community Foundation exists to inspire, to steward local philanthropy, and to create permanent community capital in order to address our community’s most pressing needs and opportunities. Helping to facilitate CEF’s commitment to the school district is a shining example,”  said Anne Mann Chelsea Community Foundation board chair.
