This is the 13th year for ice cream at the 86th Annual Chelsea Community Fair, which takes place Aug. 20-24.
In 2016, a new 20 by 20 building was erected with two serving windows.
The building sits between the red barn and the gazebo just up the hill from the Main Arena.
Neil Horning organizes and decides on the ice cream flavors. This year, there will be chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, mint chocolate chip, butter pecan, Superman and Moose tracks flavors. A serving is hand scooped and served in a cup for $4.
He said milkshakes, which are made with whole milk, cost $5.
Horning orders the ice cream by the tub and approximately 200 tubs are consumed each year by hungry fairgoers.
The hours for the parlor are Tuesday, Aug. 20 starting at 4 p.m. until about 10 p.m. and Wednesday-Saturday, Aug. 21-24, the parlor will be open from noon until about 10 p.m.
Each year, the profits from ice cream sales go back into the community and about five different groups volunteer to man the parlor during fair.
