28th annual hospital spring auction on Saturday

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Jennifer Berry for the information in this story.)

Chelsea Community Hospital will venture into a “Pirate’s Cove” this spring, and the community is invited to join in the fun for a great cause at the UA 190-IBEW 252 Hall on Jackson Road beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The 28th Annual CCH Spring Auction promises a night of fun and excitement, with proceeds funding the purchase of a linear
accelerator. Part of the hospital’s long-term goal to build a comprehensive cancer center, the linear accelerator will provide radiation therapy for cancer patients at CCH.

The hall is at 7920 Jackson Road, and there will be a silent auction, raffle, strolling buffet, and dessert bar will begin at 6:30 pm, followed by the exciting Live Auction at 8:30 pm, conducted by auctioneer Steve Gross.

Guests are invited to dress up in their favorite pirate attire and “dive in” to a night of fun and excitement with fellow hospital supporters. Refreshments will include a delicious strolling buffet and a variety of decadent desserts. Prizes for best man and woman’s costume will be awarded.

“The auction is truly an unforgettable event,” says Judy Stratman, director of marketing and development in a press release. “Many of our guests dress up for the theme, and everyone has a great time seeing the fabulous items and talking and laughing with friends in the community.”

Stratman emphasized that all the money raised in Chelsea stays in Chelsea.

“We want the community to know that their donations benefit their community. All the money raised at this Auction will go directly to Chelsea’s linear accelerator.”

Many local community members and businesses have generously donated items for the event. Live auction highlights include a one-week stay in Costa Rica, a trip to New York City, University of Michigan Luxury Football tickets, a VIP NASCAR
experience, Red Wings tickets, and more.

Tickets are $100 each and may be purchased by calling Pamela Parkinson at 734-593-5377, or by emailing her at [email protected].
