48 years and counting: July 4 chicken broil at Chelsea American Legion Post 31

One of the most popular July 4 traditions in the Chelsea area is the American Legion Post 31 chicken BBQ.

This year, on Wednesday, July 4, Legion Post 31 will continue to host its annual event beginning at 11 a.m. until all 500 chicken dinners are sold out.

For the 48th year, the event, which is organized by Squadron 31 of the Sons of the American Legion, will be held at the Legion Post, 1700 Ridge Road in Sylvan Township.

Included in a take-out or eat-in dinner are a half chicken, baked beans, Cole slaw, a bag of chips and a roll and butter for $10.

Beverages and desserts are an additional cost while they last.

The proceeds from this fundraiser are used to assist area veterans.

Hope to see you there.
