Chelsea Human Rights Commission to reveal survey results to City Council Jan. 22

By Lisa Carolin

Results of the Chelsea Human Rights Commission’s (HRC) survey will be shared with Chelsea City Council at its Tuesday, Jan. 22 meeting.

Members of the HRC discussed the presentation of those results at its Jan. 10 meeting.

There were 690 surveys completed by individuals and 11 surveys completed by area organizations.

The presentation will include a breakdown of the ages and geographical make-up of participants.

In addition, the HRC will share what the surveys indicated are the top issues people see in the Chelsea community. The presentation will include what people feel Chelsea does well in the area of human rights, and what the city can improve on.

The HRC will use survey results to formulate its annual plan, which it plans to present to the City Council in February.

The HRC meets on the first Wednesday of every month. Its next meeting will be on Feb. 6.
