(Chelsea Update would like to thank Laura Dillmann for the information in this story.)
The Saline-Chelsea Ski Team finally had its first race Tuesday night after the first two events of the season were canceled due to poor snow conditions on the hill.
The team got out of the gate with a great start, with its first giant slalom on Jan. 15 at Mt. Brighton.
The girls team took 4th out of 10 teams. Scoring for the team was Katie McInnis (6), Nikki Dillmann (7), Ally Dillmann (16), and Sydney Collins (41).
On the boys’ side, the team’s top racer had an equipment issue. Erik Koseck popped out of his ski in the start shack, but managed to complete the course on one ski – albeit with a slower time.
The team took 9th of 11 teams with Caden Faupel (19), Erik Koseck (36), AJ Mitchell (58) and Mason Kipley (61) in scoring positions.
Coach Laura Dillmann said, “There are six new racers on the team, and they all performed well, showing great prospects for the future of this young and growing group. We’re looking forward to the rest of the season.”
Lisa, more Unsolicited feedback that brings back a lot of memories……………Hockey Club, we removed snow and played hockey on the Waterloo Millpond! As far as skiing is concerned, we used the hill behind our house where the condos are now (with wooden strap-on ski’s) I just can’t resist responding when reading the update!!!!!

I’m enjoying your trip down memory lane, Bill.
