Third through eighth graders are invited to register by Feb. 25 for spring recreation field hockey.

Both beginners and experienced players are welcome. The program is a cooperative effort between Chelsea Field Hockey and Ann Arbor Rec and Ed, the organization that provides the game day fields in Ann Arbor and competitive teams.

New this year, Chelsea families sign up through the Chelsea Community Education.

The schedule aligns with Ann Arbor Rec and Ed, so standard registration is required by Feb. 25. Register here: https://apm.activecommunities.com/chelseacommunityeducation/Activity_Search

Practices will be held once a week in Chelsea.

One-to-two parents of players are required to volunteer as coaches. There will be 3rd/4th, 5th/6th and 7th/8th grade teams.

Coach Angela Menegay is leading the 5th/6th grade team and is seeking an assistant coach. Coaches are needed for the 3rd/4th and 7th/8th grade teams as well.
The first practice is the week of April 1. The practice day will be determined soon. Games begin the weekend of April 13.

Required safety gear includes a mouthguard and shin guards. Chelsea Field Hockey has sticks and shin guards available to borrow.

Recreation field hockey is a great way for youth to learn and hone stick skills, fast foot work, game tactics and teamwork.
