June 21: National Kidney Foundation of Michigan ‘A Matter of Balance’ class

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Joyce Williams for the information in this story. Even though this is not taking place in Chelsea, I thought readers might be interested.)

The National Kidney Foundation of Michigan (NKFM) is looking for adults interested in coaching workshops for older adults at various locations in southeast Michigan.

The workshop, A Matter of Balance, emphasizes practical strategies to manage falls. Coaches work with groups to reduce the fear of falling and increase the activity levels of those who have concerns about falls.

Coach training will take place on Friday, June 21, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan, 1169 Oak Valley Dr. in Ann Arbor.

There is no cost to participants who will teach NKFM classes and, once trained, they will be paid to lead the workshops.

To register or for more information, call LaShawn Griffin at 734-222-9800 or email [email protected].
