WHY: Bridge maintenance work
BACKGROUND: On Tuesday, May 30, 2023, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will begin a bridge maintenance project on the Main Street bridge, over Mill Creek, between Dexter-Chelsea Road and Jeffords Street in the City of Dexter.
Motorists can expect a traffic pattern shift in both directions during the bridge work. The road will remain open. However, motorists and pedestrians can expect lane and sidewalk restrictions during the bridge work for approximately 11 days. This project will not be active during summer holidays and is not expected to overlap with the Parker Rd Culvert Replacement project. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.
WCRC encourages motorists, emergency services and others to use an alternate route.
