The 5th Annual Chelsea High School Marching Band exhibition will take place Wednesday, Sept. 19 from 5-9 p.m. at the Chelsea High School Football Field.
Participating high school bands include Grass Lake, Jackson Northwest, Quincy, Manchester, Stockbridge, Williamston, Tecumseh, Dexter, Saline, and Chelsea. The special guest college band will be the Western Michigan University Bronco Marching Band.
All bands will be evaluated by adjudicators, which include Scott Boerma, director of the University of Michigan Marching Band; John T. Madden, director of the Michigan State University Marching Band; James Barry, retired band director; Orlando Suttles, MSU color guard instructor, and Marc Compton, former MSU drum major.
The Beach Middle School Band will perform the National Anthem at 5:20 p.m.
Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students and seniors, and there will be a full menu of concessions available.
Looking forward to seeing my son Nathan, who is now on the Bronco drumline, march again in Chelsea.
