A reminder about the SRSLY New Year’s Eve Party

Have you decided what you’ll wear to the 5th Annual New Year’s Eve Party hosted by SRSLY at Beach Middle School?

It’s a great place to bring the kids, friends and the entire family from 4-8 p.m. on Dec. 31.

More than 1,200 people have attended this community-wide party in the past four years, according to information from SRSLY.

It’s a free family-friendly event with a great line-up of performers.

And, coalition members are planning games and activities that will appeal to all ages, including team games and competitions (eating contests, relay races, card games and more), face painting, video games on classroom Smart Boards, cookie-decorating, live music, swimming, basketball, volleyball, indoor soccer, and a chili cook-off.

This year Liquid Plasma, the Chelsea Youth Dance Troup, Mikhaila & Will, and Spin Cycle will be performing.

“We are really excited about all the great music and dance we have lined up for entertainment,” said Jesse Kauffman, SRSLY program coordinator in a press release.

And, the first five entrants in the chili cook-off will receive a $10 gift card to Polly’s Country Market to purchase supplies. To sign up for the chili cook-off, contact Jesse Kauffman at [email protected] or call 734-593-5283.

Door prizes will be awarded every half hour that include gift certificates to local restaurants and businesses, board games, and free passes to bowling.

Pizza, pop, and other refreshments will be available for a suggested donation of $1 per item.

“Our goal is to provide a fun and safe environment in which kids and parents can celebrate together,” said Reiley Curran, SRSLY director.

The party is free, thanks to the generosity of the following organizations: Chelsea Lanes, Chelsea Milling Co., Chelsea Orthodontics, Chelsea Rotary Club, Chelsea Wellness Center, Cole Funeral Chapel, Ellie’s Chocolate Café, Jack & Son Barber Shop, Jet’s Pizza, Meijer, Mike’s Deli, The Potting Shed, Gary Reed’s Barbering, Total Smiles Dental Group, Uptown Coney Island, Vogels & Fosters, Zou Zou’s, and Raymond Howe DDS, and the SRSLY Coalition, which is funded by a Drug Free Communities grant from the Office of National Drug Control Policy.
