Have you received your catalog for the Winter-Spring semester of classes offered by the Adult Learners Institute of Chelsea (ALI)?

“ALI provides a diverse selection of quality community-based learning experiences and camaraderie for adults in western Washtenaw County. ALI is a Lifelong Learning Institute (LLI) affiliated with the Elderhostel Institute Network (EIN), a group of 320 similar organizations. We conduct our programs in cooperation with Washtenaw Community College,” according to the institute’s Website.

If not, the schedule is available online or you can request a catalog by phone for all the interesting classes that are set to begin.

And, for readers who enjoy Tom Hodgson‘s outdoor wildlife and bird columns which post every Sunday on Chelsea Update, take note of this class:

Birds of the Area
Tom Hodgson
May 1 and 8 (two Wednesdays) 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon
The Cedars of Dexter Clubhouse, 411 Cedars Lane, Dexter, MI.

Tom Hodgson is fascinated by birds and has learned that birding is the second most popular activity in the country. He shares his knowledge in a class about backyard birds that one can see in the area. Weather permitting, we will go outside to see what birds we can find. Bring  binoculars, warm clothing, and walking shoes.Note: Field trip is not handicap accessible.

Registering for a class is a great way to beat the winter blahs by learning something new and making new friends, says Pam Radcliffe.
