Alzheimer’s Association support group on June 20

logo_alzThe Alzheimer’s Association will hold a support group on June 20, (each thrid Thursday of the month) from 2-3:30 p.m. at the Chelsea Retirement Community‘s Crippen Building, 805 W. Middle St.

An Alzheimer’s Association support group is a safe place to learn, offer and receive helpful tips, and meet others coping with Alzheimer’s disease or another dementia, according to information about the session.

Participation in a support group can be an empowering experience, helping members feel better prepared to cope with their unique situation.

Support group members are typically the spouse, adult child, other family member or friend of someone with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia.

Group members report feeling less alone, more able to confront their daily problems, and more hopeful about their future, according to the information.
