The Saturday Chelsea Farmers Market is gearing up for a summer of great food-based events, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and Double Up Food Bucks program at the Market.
Customers can get healthy, affordable fruits and vegetables at the farmers market with their Bridge Card (SNAP), and for every dollar spent on fruits and vegetables, they can double their spending power with the Double Up Food Bucks program.
To support these programs and market operations, Ashley Miller Helmholdt, market manager, is looking for volunteers for the following activities:
- Customer counter
- Set up/tear down
- Market basket giveaway coordinator
- Support for nutrition education events (June 8, July 27 and Aug. 17)
- Vendor sales and produce tracking
- Customer survey
- Support for tracking SNAP/EBT
The market is also looking for volunteers to assist with other market activities. If interested, please contact [email protected]
